Standing with two others on a ledge 7ft. long, 5ft. in width, at one end and 2ft. wide at the other end, 57ft. above the bottom of the quarry, and 50 feet below the top, drilling a hole for a shot, when about a shovel full of small stones came away from near the top of the quarry face. A piece of the stone struck deceased whilst stooping down, he overbalanced and fell to the bottom of the quarry.
