Deceased and another man were enlarging an airway in the Thick coal. He was examining an overhanging piece of side 10ft. long, 7ft. high, and from 3ins. to 24ins. thick, with an open joint behind it, with the intention of fixing a stretcher to support it, when it fell suddenly and buried him. He was dead when got out. He should have pulled the loose side down.
