- Details of Event
- He had gone into the face of the workings with four empty tubs, hut as there were no full tub ready he took the empty ones into the crossgate and left them there, and was passing the end of a gateway, with his horse, under some girders which were resting at one end on another girder, when by some means the prop under one end of the latter was displaced and a large fall of stone occurred and killed both the lad and the horse. There was considerable weight on the road and it is probable the prop was pushed out by the side squeezing in.
