He appears to have been riding up the main slope from where the journey started. Before it got clear of the parting he fell off and was run over by the last tram. It is strongly alleged that riding was prohibited but as the reattinan who should report anyone doing so was at the parting when the journey started it is hardly imaginable that the man would have acted as he did unless he knew that the roadman was slack in the matter.
