Inspection made and inquest attended. A shot had been fired which blew out a leg and let down the third head-tree from the working face. Apparently they were examining the damage done when a fall occurred displacing another set of wood and burying both men. No one was working near and the two men were entombed for a period of five hours before being discovered. Boreland was got out alive but subsequently succumbed to shock. 2 killed.
