He was cutting through a 8-ft. rib of coal next to the goat side when some stone from the roof fell upon and killed him. The fall disclosed a sloping slip in the roof and a weight break at the coal side. As weight breaks are to be expected under such circumstances a prop ought to have been set near the rib before I any coal was taken off.
