- Details of Event
- He was working in Klondyke endless rope incline, Old Coal Seam, as a journey of 16 empty trams was being let down to he filled. It was attached to the rope at both ends by short chains. The chain on the upper side becoming detached allowed the trams to run down until they over-ran the chain at the lower side and were checked by it. The two first trams were thus thrown across the rails and crushed him against the side.
