He was about to cut the lid off a prop in the waste when a "bump" caused a stone, 10 tons in weight, to fall in one piece upon him. It broke the prop at which he was working, and pushed out 3 or 4 others. Two sides of the stone were weight breaks and the top was a pebble bed.
