- Died August 30, Deceased was injured by a fall of blue metal stone, about 1 foot square and 1.5 inches extreme thickness, with sharp edges which cut his shoulder and knee. He was attended as an outpatient of the Sunderland Infirmary until August 25th, when he was considered cured. On 29th August he was sent to the infirmary suffering from acute pericarditis and congestion of the base of the lungs, and died next day. An inquest was held and a post-mortem examination made. The doctors concurred in stating that the injury had no connection with the death and the jury found in accordance with the medical evidence.
