Details of Event
He was in charge of a set of four bricklayers who were working on a bricking scaffold pointing the brickwork of the shaft. Deceased decided that the air boxes should be taken out. Whilst doing this work he loosened the main supports, and about a dozen pipes fell breaking the balk and taking Pickersgill down the pit. He was instantly killed.
