- 18 May 1917: Fatal Accident At Gordon Pit - James Bonnar, a miner, who resided at Thistle Street, Cowdenbeath, was caught by a fall of coal in the Duddy [illegible] Gordon Pit, Raith Colliery, belonging to the Lochgelly Iron and Coal Co. yesterday. He was injured about the head so severely that he died shortly after the accident. He leaves a wife and ten children. He was a keen angler. [Dunfermline Journal 19 May 1917]
FATAL ACCIDENT IN FIFE PIT. James Bonner, a miner, who resided at Thistle Street, Cowdenbeath, was caught beneath a fall of the "Duddy Davie" seam of the Gordon Pit, Raith Colliery, belonging to the Lochgelly Iron and Coal Company, yesterday.
