Between the 19th and 26th April, he received an injury to his right side by being knocked down by a loaded tub in a dip. He had been injured in the same place while lifting a tub on the rails two or three years previously. He followed his employment till the end of June and subsequently went into the Infirmary. He died on the 17th April, 1900. A post-mortem examination disclosed a large tumour chiefly composed of bone, which was the cause of death and was attributed to external injury.
