- Details of Event
- Deceased had left his working place to fetch some gear and sat waiting at the junction of the gate and crossheading to allow a pony putter to drive past the gate end. Whist in this position a stone fell, 3 feet by 3 feet by 10 inches, causing injuries from which he died 1st September. Bearing bars are set when the gates are turned in, but these are usually withdrawn when the roof has settled on the packs. A bearing bar should have been set in this case.
