Deceased was working at the side in a still of the Thick Goal, his son and another man being also employed in the stall, when suddenly a bump reeled out part of the timber and brought down a quantity of top coal. Deceased was knocked down partially buried with his face on the floor and was suffocated. The deputy had been in the stall less than five minutes before the accident and considered it safe and well timbered.
