Killed in a mining accident late March/early April 1924, leaving a widow, two sons and a daughter. The accident was at a mine in the West Bromwich area. Charles is buried in the churchyard of West Bromwich Parish Church (All Saints) He may well have been the son who saw his father John killed in the 1908 accident.
