3 February 1916: The next inquiry was in connection with the death of Andrew Peacock, miner, Main Street, Townhill, who was killed as the result of an accident in the mine belonging to the Lochside Coal and Fireclay Company Townhill. He was engaged taking out a piece of plate, which was supported with sprags, when the plate burst out and fatally injured him. [Evening Telegraph 2 March 1916]
