Details of Event
Deceased slipped on the plates at the bottom of a jig while twisting a load. This caused a sprain of the muscles of the abdomen for which he received medical treatment until his death on September 24. A post-mortem disclosed the part that death was due to acute septicaemia acquired through a slight sore on the shoulder. Evidence was given at the inquest that the sore was caused at the same time as the sprain, but as it was considered insignificant no notice was taken of it in claiming for compensation, nor was attention drawn to it at the visits of the doctor who prescribed for the sprain.
