Details of Event
Charging hole with frozen gelignite. Hole 12ft. deep; had pushed down four cartridges, the fifth stuck in the hole a foot from the other. A wood rammer 12ft. long, weighing 2.5 lbs., was used and pressed against the cartridge when it exploded together with the others. He had a warming pan but did not use it.
