- Deceased while working it the face in the Cockshead, was struck on the head by a piece of dirt about one foot square, which fell from the roof. He was knocked insensible for a short time but managed to walk out to the pit and also to the doctor to get the cut he had received attended to. Seven days later an operation was performed on his skull, which was found to be fractured. He died on dune 6th from inflammation of the brain.
