Raising a large stone by crane, short of steam pressure, engine stopped, brake was put on, he foolishly tried to change gear, owing to rain brake failed to hold, engine ran amain, wheel burst, one piece struck him on the belly, inflicting fatal injuries. He should have waited 10 or 15 minutes when he could have had sufficient steam pressure.
