Run over by a railway truck which was being lowered from the screen siding to a stationary engine. He was cleaning out a gutter, between the rails, which had become choked owing to the rain. At the time of the accident there was a thunderstorm, which may account for his not having noticed the truck approaching. It is a busy place, as all the trucks for the colliery output, &c., have to pass it daily.
