Was tramming rubbish from a parting to the pit, and when going to have his supper he arranged with another repairer that in case he had filled all his empty trams before he, Parfltt, came back, he should bring a full tram out to the pit. This was done, but the full tram ran into an empty one, which struck Parfltt, who apparently was lying down asleep in the middle of the road, and ruptured his spinal cord. (Runaway tram).
