Deceased was working at the base of a face of sand 27 feet deep, when suddenly a large slip of sand and earth occurred. Deceased was struck on the head and body and killed by some of the earth which was frozen and contained many stones. The fall was estimated at 25 to 30 tons, and was due to severe frost followed by a sudden thaw.
