- Details of Event
- Died 18th May 1904. He was injured in the Yard seam on the 29th March, while engaged putting a pack wall or building in longwall workings using stone that had been shot down. The roof was not very good but as the stone shot down was in the way of setting timber he delayed supporting it and was caused by a stone and his spine injured. He was never able to work again and was taken first taken to the infirmary in Newcastle and then to the workhouse where he died. An inquest was held.
