While assisting a contractor to build a stack with old timber he appears to have gone about a dozen yards away into a disused road to seek some old timber. As he did not return a search was made and he was found dead under a large fall with two props lying across his body. It was surmised he had been throwing timber out of the place when he accidentally knocked out a prop and caused the fall.
