- Details of Event
- They were engaged in taking down-hill, dip 1 in 12, a "bord
piece," 12 feet long from the line of an old coal face, which had been standing
some six months, and were found under a fall of roof. The fall came from roof
breaks developed parallel to the "bord" line and displaced three props. The
timbering rule was not contravened, but the ground should have been recovered by
working on the "end" of the coal. The deputy had visited the place 1.5 hours
before and found it in working order. 2 killed.
