Deceased at the end of his shift went into an old, untimbered horse way on the seven feet seam. While there a fall of cliff 47ft. by 9ft. by 2ft. thick, occurred and he was buried. The fact that the workings on the overlying Yard seam had nearly reached the horse way appears to have been overlooked by the management who took no special precautions to deal with the squeeze.
