8 May 1923: Colliery Fireman's Death Near Stirling - Yesterday morning the body of Robert Orr (38), mine fireman, residing at 4 Brucefield Terrace, St Ninians, Stirling, was found in No.3 Pit, Polmaise Colliery, near Stirling. It is reported that he went out to make an inspection of the pit, and on failing to return a search party was sent to look for him. He was dead when found. [Scotsman 9 May 1923]
