- Details of Event
- Deceased was caught by a runaway empty tub about 30 yards from the bottom of an incline on the main endless rope haulage road, and so severely injured that he died shortly afterwards. The tub had become unclipped in passing round the pulleys of a curve 100 yards higher up the road, and deceased, who had gone down the incline a few minutes before while the rope was standing, and was in a refuge hole talking to the bondsman, apparently to stepped out into the road as the tub came down, with the result above stated. Deceased ought to have stopped the rope before recommencing his journey to the bottom of the incline.
