13 September 1935: West Lothian Pit Fatality - John O'Hare (56), who resided at 69 Greig Crescent, Armadale, was instantaneously killed yesterday in Standhill pit, Blackridge, West Lothian, owned by United Collieries (Ltd.), when struck by a stone weighing two tons, which fell from the roof of his working place. He is survived by his widow and a grown-up family. One of his sons, John O'Hare, is a member of the Chelsea football team. [Scotsman 14 September 1935]
