Deceased was re-timbering a roadway, after a large fall had been removed. While putting on covering another, a stone fell from the side above the timber and struck him on the head, causing instant death. The fireman had examined the place, and tested the sides about three hours previously and considered them safe. The fall was probably due to water as there was a considerable amount dropping.
