Died May 16th. Deceased stated he slipped and fell against a tub loaded with stones while pushing it in the pit on February 21st but no evidence in confirmation of this was offered and he never mentioned it to any official at the time. He came to the pit on Feb. 12st unwell and vomited blood he worked the next two days, and then worked no more. An inquest was held and medical evidence given that death was due to phthisis, and so the jury found.
