- June, 1932: SCOTTISH PIT TRAGEDIES - Man Who Was Recalled - Joseph Norton, colliery brusher, Church Street, Kilsyth, was killed in Curriemine Colliery, Kilsyth, to-day. He had finished his shift and was on his way up the pit when he was recalled to attend to some job, and a large stone fell upon him and killed him outright.
