Deceased was employed taking off empties at a junction on an endless rope haulage road dipping inbye 1 in 30. A train of empties fouled the full road at a point 150 yards above the junction end caused the hook attaching a load of full tubs to the rope clip to straighten out. The full tube ran back, and before deceased could get into a manhole on the full side road he was struck and killed. No catches were provided to prevent or arrest a runaway.
