- Details of Event
- Deceased, who had worked 4 months underground and had acted as a driver for 6 weeks left a flat sitting on the limbers of a pony drawing two full tubs. The road rose slightly outbye. He was found seriously injured about the head lying across the road behind his set to which the pony was still hung on and the tubs on the rail There were props supporting crown's by the side of the road and within a few inches of the tub and it was surmised he had allowed his head to project possibly he had been looking back to see if the putters had come out and was caught. The road was in good order. The Local Inspector's reported after reciting the fact, ‘In our opinion the injury has been purely accidental. The boy getting his head bruised between tub side and timber but no certain evidence to show how it was done.’
