27 February 1937: Charles Nicol (43), miner, who lived at 47 Wallace Street, Bannockburn, was killed while at work at No.2 pit, Polmaise Colliery, Millhall, Stirling, on Saturday. He was struck by a stone which fell from the roof, death being instantaneous. [Scotsman 1 March 1937]
