Roof fall. Charles Nicol, Snr (50), Miner, 37 Wallace Street, Bannockburn, was killed by a fall of stone on Saturday morning in No.2 Pit, Polmaise Colliery. Death was instantaneous. Nichol’s neck being broken. He was a married man with a family. (Stirling Observer).
