Deceased was in the act of setting a short prop under a balk, under which he had previously set a middle prop and a prop at the end. Whilst driving the short prop up the weight was taken off the middle prop, which popped out. The baulk canted down and struck deceased, dislocating his neck. In all probability the middle prop was not properly set.
