A fall of stone occurred at a slip in the face and fatally injured him. The deputy had been in the place about an hour and a half before the accident occurred and gave him instructions to draw a sprag under the holed coal and to get the coal and stone down as it was not safe, owing to it being ragged and there being a slip. He, however, instead of doing this got the coal down and walked under the stone with the result that as soon as he got to the slip the stone fell and caught him.
