- Naylor was engaged filling a tub of coal at the face opposite a roadway, when a sudden weighting occurred, followed immediately by a fall of "stammel" or top dirt, which displaced a prop set immediately under it, and inflicted injuries to Naylor from which he died that night. At the inquest the jury recommended "that more care be used in future in spragging the stammel”.
