Inspection made and inquest attended. The working place was a vein deposit about 7 feet wide bounded by limestone sides. The place was timbered close up to the face with larch head-trees and 5 or 6 feet of debris there but a huge slice of the hanging side suddenly collapsed and smashed in the whole drift burying up three men two of whom, strange to relate were got out practically uninjured.
