6 September 1919: Uddingston – Colliery Accident – Early on Saturday morning while James Murphy, residing at Alpine terrace, was at work in Viewpark Colliery, a fall took place, and he received serious injuries to the head, and was removed to the Royal Infirmary in the ambulance waggon.
