27 September 1920: Uddingston – Colliery Accident – On Monday, while Thomas Mulrainey, miner, Alpine Terrace, Uddingston, was crossing between waggons at Viewpark Colliery, Uddingston, his head was caught between the buffers and he was so seriously injured that he was conveyed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
