3 April 1933: Denny Miner Injured - A man named George Mullen, 54 Broad Street, Denny, sustained a broken leg and other injuries through being caught by a runaway hutch in the north dook section of Woodyett Pit, of the Herbertshire Colliery, Denny, yesterday. Mullen had a very fortunate escape, as the runaway hutch weighed about 25 cwts, and came down a gradient of 1 in 3. After being medically attended to he was removed to Falkirk Royal Infirmary.
