Run over by hutches. The resumption of work in the local Pits after the Fair holidays was marred by a fatal accident in Fallin Colliery on Monday (1 August 1955). The victim was James Morrison, Pit Roadsman, who in the course of his duties, was run over by a rake of hutches. He was very severely injured and was rushed to Stirling Royal Infirmary where he died early on Tuesday morning. Deceased, who was 31 years of age and unmarried, resided with his parents at 38 Cecil Street, Stirling. (Stirling Journal).
