Falls in Mine (b) Falls of Roof – He was boring a shot hole at the face of a stone mine when a large stone fell from the roof and fractured his spine. He died on 20th June 1922. The stone had been tested and an attempt made to get it down but it seemed quite secure. The boring prop, which was set beneath it, was displaced by the fall.
