- 13 September 1921: Mining Fatality At Leven - While attending to a fall of coal and redd in Leven No 1 Pit, George Black, Buchlyvie Terrace, Leven, was struck on the head by a large stone, and so severely injured that he died on Tuesday morning in Wemyss Hospital. He was 52 years of age. Mr Black was an active member of Largo Bay Yacht Club, and for long a prominent Templar. [Dunfermline Journal 17 September 1921]
