Deceased was descending the shaft standing on the edge of a kibble which was loaded with air tubes. The banksman objected to his going down in such manner, but deceased, being chargeman, overruled the objection. From subsequent inspection it would appear that the kibble had struck the buntons, and that deceased had been thrown off and precipitated to the bottom of the shaft, where he was picked up dead.
