On an inclined roadway; while filling rubbish into a tram which was held in position by a post resting against a "collar," and a "sleeper" placed across the rails at the tail end, the post by some means slipped away, causing the tram to run wild. The tram caught in the sleeve of his jacket and he was dragged down the incline plane for 9 or 10 yards, when he collided against a prop supporting the roof. He died two hours after he had been conveyed to his home.
