- Fall of roof. A ‘pot hole’ about 6 feet from the coal face in his working place in the Great Vein which dips at an angle of about 45 degrees in this district of the mine. He had just cleared away the coal which had been brought down by a shot and was in the act of making a hole in the floor to set a prop while his filler was getting for him about two or three yards distant, when the stone fell.
